Jasmine
I am passionate about working with queer people of color who are struggling to believe that they are enough. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling isolated and find it challenging to connect with others. They’re hoping to understand why they are feeling so uncomfortable and walled off from everything around them. Many folks come to therapy to improve their self-esteem and are looking for a safe, nonjudgmental space to do that work.
My Story
It’s common for my clients to come to therapy feeling isolated and struggling to connect with others. They often come to therapy to reduce the impact of anxiety and depression on their lives and relationships. In my practice, change comes from increased self-awareness. I support clients in their work by unpacking the narratives they have of themselves and the world. I often incorporate art therapy and mindfulness techniques in sessions with clients.
I became a mental health provider because I have seen the transformative impact that therapy can have on individuals and their communities through my previous work at social services nonprofits. I am excited to work with Reconnect, because it’s important to me that people from underserved and underrepresented communities receive culturally relevant care.
Currently, I am a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist working at Reconnect Marriage and Family. I am being supervised by Cymone Damon Sams, LMFT#127094.
